Musical Theater

I was looking at the Fisher Theater's webpage and now I want to go to a musical. I've never been to a musical before and the closest thing to a play I've ever been to was in high school. Not that I'm criticizing high school plays but they really aren't that organized. I'd like to see something done by professionals.

Some current shows at the Fisher are I'll Be Home for Christmas and Mary Poppins. I'll Be Home for Christmas is running this week and Mary Poppins runs from December 16 to January 2. Upcoming shows include Chicago, Burn the Floor and In the Heights.

Personally I'd like to go see Chicago. I liked the film version so maybe I'll like the Broadway version. If anyone is interested in Musical Theater here is the link to a site that has The Fisher Theater shows and the Detroit Opera House shows. http://www.broadwayindetroit.com/index.cfm

  1. Just thought I would pass along another venue to consider: Detroit Opera House will be presenting SHEN YUN Jan 20-23 2011--This is classical Chinese dancers, musicians, and singers of Shen Yun. In other words, a visually dazzling tour of 5,000 years of Chinese history and culture.

  2. You have to go see a musical! I am a severe metal head, but I appreciate all forms of music. I saw Les Misérables at the Fisher, and Phantom at The Masonic! Both were amazing! If you have the opportunity to see something at the Masonic, try and get a tour of the interior. It has great history and lore of the Free Masons, and there is an unfinished Olympic sized pool in one of the rooms! Pretty cool stuff!
